Star Wars TV series on the way
Not one, but two, Star Wars TV spin-offs are on the way under
the watchful eye of George Lucas: one animated and one live action. At the
recent Siggraph event, Lucas confirmed that the current three-minute Clone Wars
mini-series will be extended into a series of 30 minute adventures.
Details are quite
sketchy on the live-action one though which will feature mainly new characters and
some existing Stars Wars characters. Filming is due to start next year. One word of caution though, Lucas
said it will be something like the Young Indiana Jones TV series which means
you might not want to hold your breath after all.

Why do people always take things like this so literally? Lucas didn't mean, "the show will be lackluster like Young Indiana Jones"....he meant that it would be something like "Young Han Solo", which would be great and would lend itself well to a series. Smuggling drugs throughout the galaxy for Jaba sounds like quite an exciting story. Maybe just shift a tad from complete pecimism and you could learn to have a shred of hope.

C'mon guys... Star Wars is OVER. It died a pathetic whimpering death at the hands of a madman who lost his vision long ago. Prequels? My imagination in 1979 as a ten year old was much better than that pile of dreck. George can't resist playing out every last piece of backstory as though it was pure gold and needed to be shown. Face it, he's NOT THAT CREATIVE.

Let me see if I got this right. Lucus will not allow anyone else direct the last three episodes of the saga that he promised the world (you shot off your mouth and announce nine movies to the world, that means you promised them) so he renegs.
Now, he is going to let other people write and direct a TV series?
Oy! Idiot!
Why oh why didn't Lucus just stick with his original plan instead of going way off course with Return of the Jedi? Damn it, I want Lucus to hand over his original notes to Peter Jackson, let Peter remake Return of the Jedi, all three prequels and the last three movies... and Lucus should not only foot the bill, he should pay for the tickets for every single person he gypped!
