Save VHS classics with Philips
VHS players
may be dead but that doesn’t stop many of us wanting to preserve the stuff we
have on videotape. Philips is hoping to take some of the pain out of video-to-DVD
transfers with the launch of its DVD
writer kit that promises a quick three-step solution. Sadly, the DVDR16STK
Theme Pack is an internal drive which is bound to strike terror into those
unfamiliar with the guts of a PC.
For those who’ve taken the plunge before and have
£100, this Theme Pack comes with all the cables and Nero software needed to hook up
to a VCR and get those grainy home vids, treasured sporting moments and Beavis & Butthead classics onto immortal DVD. The drive
supports dual-layer burning, which means you can record four hours of DVD quality
material onto a single, 8.5GB dual-layer
DVD-R disc.
