Sony PSP smashes sales records
Nintendo
might be outwardly calm about the arrival of the upstart PlayStation Portable
(PSP) console but the first sales figures today are bound to give it some reasons to panic. About 185,000 reasons, actually. The Sony
PSP, according to the official sales figures from Chart-Track, has not just
become the fastest selling games console in the UK but it has done so by a
long way. 
Sales in the first four days topped 185,000 units. The Nintendo DS,
launched in March, managed 87,000 in a week. Sony claims it will flog a million
of them by Christmas. Considering the blistering start, this is one vendor
claim that might actually prove true. Read more here.
